Letters, April 18, 2024: ‘Out of the Loop’

Article content

I would like to know how our mayor got to merchants in Marda Loop to meet with local businesses. Did she bike? Lord knows she didn’t drive, because it’s almost impossible and there is no parking. Maybe she took transit that is being diverted through residential streets.

(It’s been a tough stretch for folks in the area.)

Hateful eight, again

I see the usual group (including the two Kourtney/Courtney members) are showing their complete idiocy in supporting voting being allowed for those who are not sure if they want to become Canadian citizens, but want to control local laws anyway. Thank goodness for Ric McIver’s attempt to stop it before it gets ridiculous. Kourtney Penner is our ward councillor, although I hate to admit that with her totally lame-brain approach to all matters. Oh wait, she did get Calgary a bird symbol!

(We’re detecting a touch of sarcasm.)

Ruined the country

We all know the sports phrase, ‘There is no ‘I’ in Team.’ Similarly Mr. Trudeau, there is no ‘I’ in your job description of ‘Run the Country.’
You, sir, and your big ego have added an ‘I’. You’ve now made your job description, ‘Ruin the country.’
Please just leave. You won’t be missed.

Stand up against hate

Albert Einstein once said: The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything. The various terrorist organizations like Hamas have no value for human life which is evil. Hamas supporters proclaim the destruction of Israel and do not belong in Canada. It is appalling that the Canadian government lacks the courage to stand against this hate. Now I fear for the subsequent generations of my family as do many other families!

(It’s not just government who lack the courage to stand up to this hate, it’s happening everywhere)
