Local Product Skelton To Attend Stamps Camp

Calgarian Danny Skelton will be taking part in the Calgary Stampeders’ 2024 training camp as part of the Canadian Football League’s Canadian quarterback internship program.

Calgary’s rookies will first be on the field on May 8 while main camp gets under way May 12.

A graduate of Springbank Community High School, Skelton recently completed his third season at the University of Windsor. In 2023, Skelton led the Lancers to a 6-2 regular-season record and a spot in the Ontario University Athletics semifinals as he threw for 1,806 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In 21 career games at Windsor, Skelton has thrown for 3,102 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushed for 341 yards and two scores.

Prior to university, Skelton was a two-year starter at Springbank as he helped the Phoenix to winning records in both seasons.

The CFL quarterback internship program in the past has brought quarterbacks such as Marshall Ferguson (2013), future Stamp Andrew Buckley (2014), Dante Djan (2015), Brett Hunchak (2016), Chris Merchant (2017), Adam Sinagra (2018), Mason Nyhus (2019), Matteo Spoletini (2022) and Silas Fagnan (2023) to Calgary’s camp.
