Weekend winners: FOUR lucky Canadian lottery players split second prize

The holiday season is about to be extra special for several lottery players across Canada.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, November 30, but no one won the $38 million Gold Ball prize. However, someone did win the guaranteed $1 million White Ball prize after they matched the number 65436348-01. According to PlayNow, that ticket was sold in Quebec.

The winning numbers for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw were 01, 05, 22, 25, 36, 37, and bonus 30, but no one won the $5 million prize. However, several lottery players came close after matching five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number. After splitting the second prize, four lucky Canadians will each receive $63,941.30. One ticket was sold in Western Canada, and another was purchased in Saint John, New Brunswick. The other two tickets were sold in Quebec.

There were also 40 guaranteed prizes to be won, each worth $25,000: six were sold in BC, eight in Western Canada, 16 in Ontario, seven in Quebec, and three in Atlantic Canada.

No one won the Classic Draw Extra worth $500,000 or the Encore prize worth $1 million. The next draw is set for Wednesday, December 4, and the Gold Ball prize is now worth $40 million. There are now 15 balls left.
