If you’re an NHL fan and looking to get a snack for under $10, the Delta Center in Salt Lake City might just be the place for you.
Oh, and you’ll also get a ticket to the game included in your hot dog hunt, provided you meet a bit of criteria.
Today, the Utah Hockey Club announced a $10 ticket deal for students that includes a water bottle and a hot dog, per Deseret News‘ Brogan Houston.
The deal is available to students enrolled at any university in Utah, and they’re able to buy non-transferable tickets to up to three games. The biggest catch with the price is that the seats are heavily obstructed, with some obstructed seats missing as much as the whole net on one side of the ice.

The main reason for the seats’ obstruction is that the arena wasn’t originally built for hockey, but ongoing renovations in the coming years plan to offer a more traditional NHL viewing experience.
The student deal is not the only way for fans to find cheap tickets, however.
Per more details from Houston, local fans can also get limited-view tickets while supplies last by spending money at Smith’s Food and Drug, a Utah-based chain:
- $20 spent at Smith’s gives a promo code for two tickets
- $40 gives a promo code for four tickets
- $80 gives a promo code for eight tickets
It’s not the first time team owner Ryan Smith has been creative in ways to generate buzz for the hockey team, as he gave away 2,000 free tickets to a game in December when the Vancouver Canucks were visiting town.
While hockey fans in other markets might be lamenting the fact they’ll never be able to buy tickets as cheap as some of them are in Utah, it’s at least nice to know that more people might be able to check out a game for the first time.
