When Vendome announced it would sadly be closing its doors after 15 years, the restaurant wasted no time in teasing what was in store for the future.
The historic Vendome block, which has been a Sunnyside landmark since it was built in 1912, is set to be home to Acme Pizza & Pasta Co., the sister restaurant to Acme Pizza Co.
Acme, a Calgary staple for pizza, currently has a dine-in outpost at Sunulta’s Tailgunner Brewing Taproom and a take-out and delivery location in Renfrew.
However, alongside its famed pies, as well as salads and snacks, the new sister restaurant will also offer pasta dishes.
On the menu are classic pies such as a Margherita, pepperoni, and tons of other options.
Top picks include the Alfredo, which takes inspiration from the classic pasta dish with a base of Alfredo sauce, topped with chicken, mozzarella, bacon, parsley, and black pepper.
While Acme Pizza & Pasta Co. has yet to reveal an official opening date, it’s currently hiring for staff so fingers crossed there isn’t too much longer to wait.
