The housing market in Calgary continues to see strong demand, with some neighbourhoods seeing serious home sales last year.
According to the digital real estate platform Wahi, several neighbourhoods in the city saw plenty of homes get new owners in 2024, indicating a lot of interest in those areas.
Wahi crunched the numbers and found the following five neighbourhoods saw the most homes sold in 2024;
- 5. Mahogany with 406 homes sold
- 4. Auburn Bay with 440 homes sold
- 3. McKenzie Towne with 443 homes sold
- 2. Cranston with 501 homes sold
- 1. Beltline with 1,038 homes sold
It looks like the southeast section of YYC is taking the market by storm, with four of the five neighbourhoods included in the list located in that quadrant of the city.
Overall, more than 26,000 homes were sold in Calgary, including everything from condos, townhouses, detached homes, semi-detached homes, and non-condo properties.
If you were curious about which neighbourhood was the most expensive for detached homes in Calgary in 2024, that title went to Elbow Park, with a median sale price of $1,990,000. The neighbourhood with the least expensive detached homes in 2024 was Erin Woods, at a median sale price of $486,500.
