“The Last of Us” Season 2 release month revealed in new preview

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the second season of The Last of Us, you won’t have to wait much longer. A new trailer has revealed the release month.

In December, we published a story about some speculation regarding the approximate release timeline, with one popular YouTuber suggesting it would have to be before the cutoff period for the Emmy Awards.

It turns out domthebomb was right to predict that it would be released between March and May; the latest trailer for the second season of the hit show says it will be released in April. It gives us a few more glimpses of post-apocalyptic BC and some shots inside what looks like a Metro Vancouver transit vehicle.

After being on YouTube for just 16 hours, the trailer has amassed nearly 800,000 views and is in the top 10 trending videos on the platform. The trailer gives us our first look at the other main character besides Ellie and Joel, Abby, who Kaitlyn Dever plays.

While we still don’t know the exact date the first episode will air, impatient fans can hopefully rest a little bit easier with the April reveal.

The events of The Last of Us season two are expected to follow the events of the sequel to the first game, The Last of Us Part II.

Much of the game takes place in Seattle, where Vancouver and other parts of BC were disguised for the show. Abby is introduced as a new character in this game, and her character arc and events connected to her were highly controversial in the gaming community.

It will be interesting to see if the events in the second season of the show are recreated from the video game, and if they will elicit a similar reaction.

Are you pumped for season two of The Last of Us?
