Someone in Canada just won a $5M lottery jackpot, while 18 players split second prize

Several Canadian lottery players are taking home major prizes after a successful Lotto 6/49 draw.

While Wednesday night’s draw saw the $28 million Gold Ball jackpot go unclaimed, there were still plenty of wins.

The 10th White Ball was picked and someone from Surrey, BC, matched the winning numbers (07259982-01), taking home the $1 million windfall.

The winning numbers for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw prize were 05, 15, 17, 29, 35, 45, and bonus 25.

A lottery player from Quebec is heading into the weekend $5 million richer after matching six of the winning numbers in the Classic Draw.

And a whopping 18 Canadians matched five out of six winning numbers, including the bonus, to split the Classic Draw second prize.

One player from Kimberley, BC, one from Vancouver, 10 from Ontario, three from Quebec, one from Winnipeg, one from Saskatchewan, and one Western Canada Lottery Corporation subscriber are taking home $10,052.40 each.

The luck unfortunately stopped there.

The winning numbers for the Classic Draw Extra prize were 5, 46, 55, and 79.

Sadly, no one won the $500,000 jackpot. However, 37 Canadian lottery players matched three of the four numbers to win a modest $1,000.

If the odds weren’t in your favour this time around, the next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Saturday, November 16. There are 20 balls left in the next Gold Ball jackpot worth $30 million.

There’s also the Lotto Max draw on Friday, with a staggering $65 million and eight Maxmillions up for grabs.

Make sure to check your lottery ticket from Tuesday’s Lotto Max draw as well.

You could end up like this extremely lucky lottery player who won twice in eight years.

Or like this grandfather who won the Lotto Max second prize with a lottery ticket he didn’t even want.
