A Remembrance Day commemorative crosswalk recently unveiled in the Town of Cochrane, just west of Calgary, has garnered plenty of positive reaction online.
The mayor of Cochrane, Jeff Genung, showed off the new crosswalk in a video posted to the town’s Facebook page on Thursday, calling it a “lasting tribute to the sacrifices made by those who have served, and continue to serve, our country.”
The crosswalk is located at Fifth Avenue and First Street and leads to the town’s Cenotaph, which is where a Remembrance Day ceremony will be held on Monday.
Reaction to it has been met with overwhelming positivity, with many Albertans taking to social media to show their appreciation and respect.
One post on the “Alberta Proud” Facebook page regarding the crosswalk has amassed hundreds of comments.
