Calgary’s ramen scene is booming, with dozens of fantastic restaurants serving up steaming bowls of broth packed with silky noodles. Now, a Toronto-based brand is gearing up to open not one, not two, but three outposts in the city this year.
Back in June, Kinton Ramen confirmed it had signed two leases for Calgary locations in the south and the Mission neighbourhood, and we now know details on when these are set to open.
Kinton Ramen’s first YYC outpost is set to open at South Trail Crossing — 4307 130th Avenue SE, with the spot slated to open early this spring.
Shortly after, the ramen chain will open at 1904 4th Street SW as early as late spring.
As well as the two previously confirmed outposts, Kinton Ramen also confirmed it had signed a lease for a third Calgary location in Uxborough, which will likely open in the summer.
Last year, Kinton Ramen, known for its authentic Japanese ramen and casual dining experience, signed an Area Representative Agreement with The Labreche Group to open 12 outposts in Alberta over the next five years.
Karalyn White, senior director of franchising at Kinka Family, the restaurant group behind Kinton Ramen, told Dished that while the majority of those will be in Calgary and Edmonton, spots including Banff and Red Deer will also be targeted.
