New entertainment venue PowerPlay delays its opening in Calgary

A spectacular new entertainment venue in Calgary’s Southcentre Mall has delayed its grand opening.

PowerPlay was set to hold its grand opening yesterday and has everything from state-of-the-art games and interactive simulators to epic dining spaces.

Its Instagram account shared that due to circumstances beyond its control, the grand opening was unable to go on as planned.

“While we are disappointed, we are taking every step to ensure that our launch will be worth the wait and that your experience with us will be exceptional from the very first moment,” the post stated.

“We will be sharing our new opening date very soon and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide you with the best possible experience. Rest assured, our team is working tirelessly to get everything ready, and we can’t wait to open our doors to you.”

The premium entertainment space offers a multi-sensory experience for all ages, including Canada’s first and only immersive game box, where players can get into the competitive spirit as they battle out their friends in a ton of fun games.

There’s also a wicked fusion of bowling and gaming across 16 lanes that will allow players to add strategic challenges, along with a 100-foot LED wall that will stream live sports, music videos, and vibrant visuals.

Of course, you’re bound to get hungry after spending all that time gaming, and PowerPlay has you covered.

The next-level entertainment venue will also have chef-led cuisine, a coffee bar so you don’t run out of energy, and even a few dine-in cinemas to truly elevate your dining experience.

PowerPlay is looking to expand next year with the launch of exciting new features, including a hidden speakeasy, a rooftop patio, a laser tag arena, and a Starbucks.
