One Canadian couple was in disbelief after realizing they had just won a massive lottery prize.
Married couple Anita Presseault and Richard Gionet live in Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec. One day, they decided to try their luck, so they headed to the Stop 102 convenience store on Chemin Kipawa to buy some Celebration 2025 tickets.
Presseault was with her stepson when she decided to check the results of their lottery tickets using the Loto–Québec app.

She recalled her stepson asking, “If you win a million, will it show up on the screen?”
To her shock, at that very moment, Presseault said she saw the $1,000,000 prize appear on her phone screen. She said she started screaming with joy and immediately called her husband to tell him what had just happened.
Gionet answered the phone and put her on speaker, and Presseault proceeded to inform him of the news: they had won one of the five prizes worth $1,000,000 in the draws held during the Célébration 2025 gala that aired January 12, 2025, on TVA.
Gionet wasn’t the only one to find out about the fantastic news — his colleagues nearby also heard of the couple’s good fortune over speakerphone at the same time.

The millionaire couple were emotional while claiming their cheque, and when asked what they planned to do with their windfall, they said they’d use the money to prepare for retirement.
And they’re not the only ones celebrating — the retailer that sold them their winning ticket will also receive a 1% commission of $10,000.
