A Canadian lottery player couldn’t believe his eyes when he first saw how much he had won.
Cory Turner of Kamloops, BC was shocked when discovered that he matched 4/4 Extra numbers on his October 18, 2024 Lotto Max ticket, scoring him a $500,000 prize.
“I thought, ‘Did I really win?’ I had to check my PlayNow account a few times,” he said of the initial moments after he found out.
The Southern Interior resident, who bought his Lotto Max ticket on PlayNow, was excited to share the good news with his family.
“They were all very excited,” Turner explained.
He added that he celebrated his half of a million-dollar prize with a celebratory dinner and that he has a few plans. They include purchasing a new truck as well as putting the majority of the windfall away for retirement.
When asked how it feels to win, Turner just had one word.
“Exciting!”
