The Calgary Flames will be without a key member of their forward core for the foreseeable future.
On Monday, the team provided an injury update on right winger Anthony Mantha, revealing that the 30-year-old will undergo ACL surgery this week and will miss the remainder of Calgary’s 2024-25 campaign.

Mantha was injured on November 5 during a game against the Montreal Canadiens. Late in the first period, he was hit by Emil Heineman and was forced to leave the ice, unable to return to the game.

The Longueuil native joined the Flames in the offseason as a free agent, signing a one-year deal worth $3.5 million.
The 6-foot-4 forward split the 2023-24 season between the Washington Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights, finishing with 23 goals, 21 assists, and 44 points in 74 games.
He has four goals and seven points through 13 games with Calgary this season.
Riding a 7-5-3 record, Calgary sits fourth in the NHL’s Pacific Division. They take on the Los Angeles Kings tonight at 6:30 MT in a game streamed exclusively on Prime.
