This is a great move by the Flames to get out in the community, and gives fans the opportunity to meet three players that all have the opportunity to be big parts of this franchise moving forward.
Coronato, who was selected 13th overall in 2021, is quickly establishing himself as an every day NHLer. He is already up to four goals and five points through nine games, and at the age of just 21, is only just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. Heading into the season, he was looked at as the best forward prospect the Flames had.
It wasn’t all too long ago that Pelletier was looked at as one of the top forward prospects in the organization, as well. Injuries have had an impact on the 23-year-old, who was placed on waivers just over a month ago.
He went unclaimed, however, and has had an impressive start to the AHL season with 11 points through 12 games. Should Pelletier continue to produce, it may not be long before we see him get another opportunity with the Flames.
Like Pelletier, Solovyov was also placed on waivers near the end of training camp. Many thought the 24-year-old would crack the opening night roster after appearing in 10 NHL games last season, but foot speed turned out to be an issue. He too has had a strong start with the Calgary Wranglers, recording three goals and five points through eight games.
