It was a lucky weekend for two Canadian lottery players who won in the recent Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 draws.
Lotto Max
The Lotto Max draw that took place on Friday, January 17, was a big one, with the jackpot reaching an astounding $55 million. According to PlayNow.com, the winning numbers were 10, 17, 19, 25, 28, 34, 41, and bonus 33.
No one won the top prize this time, but one lottery player will walk away six figures richer after matching six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number. The second-prize winner will soon take home a $217,403.60 prize after buying their ticket in Ontario.
The third prize was won by 46 people who matched six of the winning numbers. Each winner will receive $4,726.20.
Four Maxmillions prizes were to be won, but no one matched any of the winning numbers. No one won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra prize in BC. However, in Ontario, someone is now $1 million richer after winning the Encore top prize.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, January 21. The top prize is now worth $60 million, and six Maxmillions prizes are also available.
Lotto 6/49
Another lottery player will soon go home with $1 million after winning the Lotto 6/49 white ball prize during the Saturday, January 18 draw. The winning number of the White Ball was 26396197-01, and the ticket was sold in Western Canada.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw winning numbers were 08, 13, 16, 18, 31, 43, and bonus 01, but no one won the $5 million prize. However, after they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, two people will split the second prize. Split evenly, each one is now $84,691.40. One ticket was sold in Quebec, while the other was sold on PlayNow.com.
No one won the $500,000 Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra or the $1 million Encore prize.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, January 22. The Gold Ball prize is worth $22 million, and there are now 24 balls left.
