One Canadian lottery player will soon celebrate a six-figure windfall after winning a second prize.
The Lotto Max draw took place on January 14, 2025, and with a $50 million jackpot to be won, all eyes were on the prize. The winning numbers were 09, 12, 13, 25, 27, 44, 48, and bonus 14. Although no one matched the seven winning numbers, one person came close.
According to PlayNow.com, someone matched six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number, netting themselves a $187,380.30 second prize. The ticket was sold in Ontario.
Thirty-seven lottery players matched six of the seven winning numbers to win the third prize. Split between them, they’ll each receive $5,064.30.
There were also two Maxmillions prizes to be won, each worth $1 million, but no one won matched the winning numbers.
In BC, the Lotto Max Extra winning numbers were 3, 8, 40, and 85, but no one won the $500,000 top prize. Similarly, in Ontario, no one matched the Encore winning number 4587588 to win the $1 million prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on December 20, 2024, when someone matched the winning numbers 05, 06, 07, 24, 27, 29, and 32. It was likely an unforgettable holiday season for the winner, who’s now $20 million richer. According to OLG, the life-changing ticket was sold in Hamilton, Ontario.
If you want to try your luck again, the next Lotto Max draw is set for Friday, January 17. This time, the jackpot is worth $55 million plus an estimated four Maxmillions prizes.
