A Canadian couple is still over the moon after winning a huge lottery jackpot, and they already know how they’ll spend it.
Gail and Thomas Hewitt of Duncan, BC, are celebrating after they won $1 million in the November 19, 2024, Lotto Max draw.
“I went to Walmart where we purchased the ticket,” shared Gail of the moment she realized they won.
Thomas had a different, though very understandable, reaction.
“My brain was numb, I was excited,” he said. They had bought the winning ticket at Walmart on Drinkwater Road in Duncan.
The first person the Vancouver Island couple called was their daughter.
When asked what they plan on doing with their windfall, the Hewitts said they will buy a new car and renovate their kitchen.
And how does it feel to win the jackpot?
“Very exciting,” Gail said.
