A brand-new cocktail bar has just opened its doors in Calgary, and it’s bringing vacation vibes year-round.
Tucked underneath South Block Barbecue & Brewing in Calgary’s Mission neighbourhood is Blue Rock Swim Club, a new bar concept from the team behind Prickett Richard.
Blue Rock is a cozy and intimate bar. Despite the name, there is no swimming pool in sight. Instead, situated at “pool level,” guests will find plenty of seating, a sunken dining area, and low lighting to set the mood.
The majority of light from the room comes from its large bar area and huge reflective mirrors on the walls and ceilings.
The bar offers a wide range of signature cocktails, such as Mulholland Drive with pisco and dragon fruit and Scared To Kick Reality with rum and toasted coconut ube agave.
There are also plenty of elevated bar snacks on offer, including milk buns with miso butter, yam chips, and popcorn chicken, to name a few. For hungrier crowds, there are some select larger plates with ribeye steak, seared duck and tortelloni on the menu.
Blue Rock Swim Club is open seven days a week from 5 pm until late.
