A wild new virtual reality (VR) exhibit opens in Calgary next week, and it’s taking you right to ancient Egypt to explore the largest of the pyramids.
After touring in Paris, London, Montreal, Shanghai and New York, Horizon of Khufu lands at CF Chinook Centre in Calgary on December 12.
Horizon of Khufu is a VR experience that takes you on a journey to explore ancient Egypt and the pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the Egyptian pyramids.
It’s a neat concept setting up in a space of nearly 10,000 feet, allowing visitors to be transported to Cairo, where they will be able to freely wander through ancient Egypt.
Nearly 500,000 people have visited the exhibit worldwide, and Calgary is just the second Canadian city to experience it after Montreal.
“This unique 45-minute experience is the result of three years of research and
development by Excurio. Geared with VR headset, the audience is transported over 10,000 km from Calgary, at the base of the tallest pyramid in Egypt, for a journey back to the third millennium BC,” the event touted.
