What: The Calgary Zoo’s beloved Penguin Walk is waddling back this winter! Starting January 11 and running until early March, watch as the king penguins step outside their habitat for a royal stroll through the zoo grounds each morning.

What: Explore the amazing stalls at the Crossroads Farmers’ Market this Friday. You can purchase some cute trinkets for your mantlepiece or buy all the ingredients you need for a delicious meal from local vendors.

What: Chinook Blast is returning for its fifth year, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. A mashup of arts, community, and culture, Chinook Blast brings brilliant light features, live music, art showcases, sports, and activities set against the downtown skyline, with daytime programming happening at The Confluence and evening programming taking up a four-block stretch along Stephen Avenue.

What: If you’re missing some greenery with all the snowfall around the city, check out one of the DIY workshops at Plant. There are so many fun activities to do, and you can even start decorating for the holiday season by learning how to make your own wreath.
