10 Calgary neighbourhoods we’d like to move to in 2025

As we look ahead to 2025, so many Calgary neighbourhoods stand out as a perfect blend of charm, convenience, and community, and each one offers something special that makes it hard not to imagine calling it home.

From busy urban locations to quieter neighbourhoods that are still close to everything, here are 10 Calgary neighbourhoods we’d want to move to in 2025.

Kensington

If you enjoy being central in the city and love keeping up with trends but want to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown, Kensington is where you’ll want to be! Located just on the outskirts of downtown Calgary, it almost feels like a small-town escape in the big city. The Plaza Theatre adds to its quirky appeal, offering a mixture of recently released and throwback films in the comfort of an old vintage theatre.

It’s also a great spot if you love a nice outdoor walk with the nearby Riley Park, which is a must-see during the summer months!

Mission

Mission is one of Calgary’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, known for its unique shops, great restaurants, bars, cafes, and festivals like the Lilac Festival. With easy access to the Elbow River and its highly walkable streets, it’s one of our favourite spots to enjoy summer in Calgary.

Ramsay

This is one of Calgary’s oldest neighbourhoods and one of its most popular — especially when it’s time to view fireworks. We love this neighbourhood for its blend of walkability, access to downtown and major roads, as well as its immaculate views of downtown Calgary. Plus, nothing beats a trip to the Crossroads Farmer’s Market on the weekends.

Inglewood

Calgary’s more historic neighbourhood is also one of the city’s most picturesque. It’s known for its tight-knit community that values local, whether it’s supporting businesses like Stash and the Spice Merchant or awesome events like Sunfest and the night market.

Inglewood also stands out for its history, with places like The Confluence and the Deane House.

Marda Loop

This magnificent neighbourhood is a centre for food and the arts. It has a distinctly European feel, with some of its shop fronts and condos appearing a lot like English streets with brick buildings and stone pathways. It’s also home to CSpace — one of Calgary’s biggest community hubs for artists. Food lovers also won’t want to miss visiting Le Comptoir by Francois, a quaint spot with an outdoor fireplace, warm blankets, and award-winning quiche!

Bankview

Bankview is perfect for those who want to be close to the action without being right in the middle of it. It’s just a short distance from 17th Avenue, Marda Loop, and has easy access to big grocery stores in the Westbrook area. If you’re a renter, the area’s abundance of purpose-built rental buildings gives it an affordability edge over other inner-city neighbourhoods.

Bridgeland

Home to the iconic Bridgeland sign, this is one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in the city. Its location near the Bow River makes it ideal for a night out with friends or a scenic walk during the day (with ice cream from Luke’s Drug Mart, of course). Plenty of new restaurants regularly open in the area, and it’s a short drive into downtown!

Beltline

If you love the urban lifestyle, downtown and the Beltline have everything you need just a short walk away — groceries, the mall, and even Canadian Tire. The food around there is amazing, and you’ll never run out of things to do on weekends.

Crescent Heights

If you’re looking for the best view of the Calgary skyline, nothing compares to Crescent Heights. You can also enjoy a walk down by Memorial Drive before walking up to the top of the hill for a view of the city and the mountains on a clear day! Or, if you’re not up for the climb, just drive up and park next to the cliff (and make sure to bring a Peter’s milkshake with you!)

Sunalta

We love the quaint, charming feel of Sunalta and especially love how easy it is to get around without a car. It offers easy access to the river, 17th Avenue, downtown, and the rest of Calgary via its LRT station. But despite how close it is to everything, this area is surprisingly quiet and has its own distinct vibe.
