Thousands left without power in south Calgary due to unplanned outages

Around 3,500 customers are without power in south Calgary due to an unplanned power outage Friday morning.

According to Enmax, the first of four outages began around 7:30 a.m. in Queensland and was caused by wildlife interference.

Two more outages started at 8:30 a.m. in Sundance, Midnapore, and Fish Creek Park.

Outages have also been reported in Acadia and Pine Creek.

The cause of those outages is still under investigation.

In a post to social media, Enmax says it is working to restore power to the areas as soon as possible.
