Teenage boy facing charges for hit and run of teenage girl in NE Calgary

Calgary police have laid charges nearly four months to the day since a teenage girl was run over and seriously injured by a vehicle in the northeast community of Pineridge.

On Sunday, Jan. 28, just after 4 a.m., police say a fight broke out between the occupants of a vehicle and a 16-year-old pedestrian near the intersection of 22 Avenue NE and Pinemill Mews NE.

According to investigators, the driver tried to leave the scene while the teenage girl was holding on to the vehicle.

She fell and was then run over by the vehicle.

Police say the driver and other people in the vehicle checked on the girl, before getting back into the vehicle and leaving the scene.
