Teen faces murder charges in Forest Lawn stabbing: Calgary police

A teen is facing first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of another youth in Calgary’s Forest Lawn, police say.

Officers say the 17-year-old, who cannot be named due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 10.

The incident happened on 41 Street SE, with police saying they received reports of a fight involving a weapon at around 7 p.m.

They found a teen with stab injuries on arrival.

He was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition, but died in hospital.

This is Calgary’s eighth murder of 2024.
