Suspect sought after elderly man attacked at Airdrie business

Mounties in Airdrie are asking for help identifying a suspect after an elderly man was attacked at a business earlier this month.

RCMP say they started investigating after a male victim reported being assaulted by a stranger around 5 p.m. on May 4.

It is alleged the victim was standing at the entrance of a local business on 2 Avenue SE when another man walked through the entrance, told the victim to get out of the way and pushed him to the ground.

It’s further alleged the suspect kicked the elderly man while he was on the ground.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police are looking for a suspect described as a male with a fair complexion, around 6’0″ and 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, graphic shirt and a backwards ballcap.

Anyone with additional information is being asked to contact police.
