Students out of class at NW Calgary for second day school due to flooding

Students at a northwest Calgary elementary school are out of the classroom for a second day to flooding.

A large water main break damaged Edgemont School Tuesday, forcing a pause to classes.

A school representative says students also had no school Wednesday due to the issue.

Some disruptions to the regular school scheduled are expected over the coming weeks.

Teachers and administration are working on contingency plans for in-person learning to resume.

Currently, considerations are being made to accomodate students at other schools in the northwest.

Families are expected to get an update on the situation, including details of the short-term plan for a return to in-person learning, on Thursday.
