A stretch of Deerfoot Trail is closed in southeast Calgary on Friday afternoon after a serious crash involving a motorcycle.
Emergency crews were called to the northbound lanes of Deerfoot just south of 17 Avenue SE around 4:15 p.m. for reports of a crash.
Images from the scene show a damaged motorcycle laying on its side and debris on the roadway.
There is no word on any injuries.
Calgary police confirm northbound Deerfoot is closed from Peigan Trail to 17 Avenue with traffic being diverted onto Peigan. The southbound lanes remain open.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.
