Street sweeping in some Calgary communities pushed back due to snow

Street sweeping in some Calgary communities is being postponed Tuesday, due to snowy and wet weather.

The city says accumulating snow and ice can create challenges for sweeping equipment.

Citadel (West), Legacy, Coventry Hills (North and East portions) have been postponed, it adds.

The streets that weren’t completed in these areas will have their sweeping dates rescheduled to June 2024.

Updated sweeping schedules for the communities affected will be posted to calgary.ca/sweep within 24 hours.

Scheduled sweeping will continue in Rosedale, Crescent Heights Avenues, Castleridge (south), Westwinds, Capitol Hill, Rosemont, Southview, Woodbine, Meadowlark Park, Mayfair, and Belaire on Tuesday, the city adds.

The city says it may also revisit communities affected by the snowfall to ensure sweeping done during that time meets standards for completion.

City-wide sweeping is expected to continue as scheduled on Wednesday.

Calgarians can find out when their street is scheduled for sweeping by visiting the city’s website and using the address lookup function or signing up for notifications.
