Small plane crash lands on golf course near Calgary airport

An investigation is underway after a small plane crash landed on a golf course in northeast Calgary on Friday afternoon.

Calgary police tell CityNews the plane crashed into Wingfield Golf Club just south of the airport just before 1 p.m.

Images from the scene appear to a show a plane with minor damage on the golf course. Witnesses say the pilot was outside and walking around before he was checked by paramedics.

The male pilot and another occupant have minor injures but aren’t being transported to hospital, according to police. No one else was on the plane.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

YYC airport say they aware of a crash involving a small plane but could not provide any other information.
