Police have charged a second suspect in connection with a deadly home invasion that happened in northwest Calgary more than a year ago.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Braden Crescent NW in the community of Brentwood around 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2024 for reports of a home invasion.
Officers arrived to find one person dead and two other people hurt.
Following an autopsy, the deceased victim was identified as 53-year-old John Wayne Davis.
In February 2024, police arrested 44-year-old Jarvais Eisnor in connection to the incident.
Calgary police now say they have charged a second man, 40-year-old Calgary resident Troy Jordan Lemke, and charged him with one count of manslaughter, unlawful confinement, robbery, break and enter and two counts of aggravated assault.
The accused is schedule to appear in court in early March.
Police say they continue to investigate and believe other suspects may have been involved in the home invasion and Davis’s death.
“As the investigation has progressed, we have collected and analyzed forensic evidence which has led to two individuals being charged,” says Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson in a statement. “This evidence, coupled with persistence of our investigative team, has allowed our investigators to conduct several interviews with those involved, and those who may be aware of the details in relation to this incident.”
