Chestermere RCMP surrounded a home on the west side of the city on a firearms complaint and made one arrest Monday.
Residents in the area tell CityNews that traffic was blocked off in the area of Dawson Drive and officers, some with weapons drawn, surrounded a home.
RCMP confirmed a heavy police presence in the community and later said in a news release they responded to the firearms complaint just after 1 p.m.
The incident ended just after 3 p.m.
Police say one man was taken into custody. Charges are unknown, and no further information has been released.
Officers also didn’t say if any weapons were seized.
There are no threats to the public at this time.
