An investigation is underway after a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 2 near Airdrie Sunday.
RCMP say just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 8, officers, fire, and EMS responded to reports of a collision between a person and a vehicle.
Police say the incident happened when the vehicle, which was driving southbound on Highway 2, hit the pedestrian, a 72-year-old man from Airdrie.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where later died.
The driver of the vehicle and the four passengers weren’t hurt.
The investigation into the incident continues, police say. Anyone that lives in the area or saw the collision, has camera footage from the time of accident, or any other information, is asked to contact the Airdrie RCMP Detachment at 403-945-7267 or CrimeStoppers.
