Pair of teens charged in armed robbery of SW Calgary vape store

Two teenagers have been charged in the armed robbery of a southwest Calgary vape store in October.

Police say around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, two teens covered their faces with medical masks and went inside One Stop Vape Shop on Macleod Trail.

The pair then threatened the store employee with a gun before leaving on foot with an unknown about of money and vape products.

Officers executed a search warranted on Nov. 19 at a home on Edgeburn Lane NW, where a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged.

He faces several charges, including robbery using a firearm, unlawful confinement, disguised with intent, and breach of a firearms prohibition. He is set to appear in court on Dec. 20.

Another search warrant was executed at a home on Martindale Boulevard NE on Dec. 5.

Police then arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him with robbery using a firearm, unlawful confinement, disguised with intent, breach of probation, and breach of a release order. He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

The teens can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
