Name, logo for Calgary’s professional women’s soccer team to be unveiled

Details are expected Thursday on Calgary’s new professional women’s soccer team, which will play in the Northern Super League alongside Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto, and Halifax.

An event is set for 10:30 a.m. at McMahon Stadium where the team’s brand, colours, logo, and official crest, and social media channels will be revealed.

Mayor Jyoti Gondek is set to join YYCWFC officials and a Foothills FC representative to make the announcement.

“This transformative milestone will provide women and girls with a pathway to professional opportunities in soccer right here at home,” a media release says.
