Naked prowler sought in random sexual assault committed several other indecent acts: CPS

Police say a naked man sought in connection with a random sexual assault in southwest Calgary earlier this month is now suspected in several other “indecent acts.”

Calgary police started looking for the naked suspect after he allegedly approached a group of three young women and sexually assaulted one of them in Elbow Park in the early morning hours of Aug. 11.

Investigators allege the woman were walking along a pathway near Ridge Road SW when the suspect grabbed one of them in a sexual nature. The woman broke free and called police.

In a Wednesday release, police say they think the same suspect is responsible for at least three other sexually motivated incidents between July 7 and Aug. 13.

“Victims have reported instances of walking along public pathways and being startled by a man who jumps out of the bushes while naked, and being flashed by a man while walking downtown,” reads the release.

Police say the suspect is often naked, or partially clothed, and hides in yards, alley or green spaces when its dark out.

He is described as a man in his mid-30s with a light-to-medium skin tone, a medium build, and a beard or facial stubble.
