Multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 40 sends two to hospital: Stoney Nakoda RCMP

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the Kananaskis area, Stoney Nakoda RCMP say.

Mounties responded to the crash on Highway 40 near Highway 1 at around 11 p.m. on Friday.

They say the two vehicles involved are a truck with a driver and passenger and an SUV with three additional passengers.

Investigators believe the driver of the truck had crossed over into the southbound lane and crashed right into the SUV.

Two were taken to hospital, but it’s unclear who and what kind of injuries they sustained.

Highway 40 was closed from 12:30 a.m. Saturday as police investigated, and reopened at around 8:30 a.m.

This is a developing story.
