Man seriously hurt after being struck by vehicle in downtown Calgary

A man has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Calgary Monday, EMS says.

EMS public education officer Stuart Brideaux tells 660 NewsRadio paramedics responded to 3 Street and 9 Avenue SE at around 5:30 a.m.

They found a man upon arrival and rushed him to Foothills Hospital in serious condition.

The pedestrian hit has led Calgary police to close a portion of 9 Avenue and 3 Street as they investigate.

Officers are advising motorists to use alternative routes.

Police, paramedics, and the fire department attended the scene.

A vehicle can be seen parked along the side of the road.
