A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a stabbing in southwest Calgary on Friday afternoon.
Calgary police say they received calls about someone in medical distress near 15 Avenue and 39 Street SW around 4:15 p.m.
Officers arrived to find a man with stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.
Police say the victim was able to point out a residence where he came from to the responding officers. Officers contained and secured the home and found no one else inside.
“He wasn’t in a condition to do much more than point where he came out of,” says CPS Staff Sgt. John Guigon of the victim.
No suspect information has been made available, but investigators do not believe the attack was random.
The investigation is ongoing.
