Man hits teen in hit-and-run and stops to apologize: Grande Prairie RCMP

Grande Prairie RCMP are looking for a suspect who struck a 13-year-old, then reportedly stopped his car and apologized before fleeing.

It happened on Sept. 14 at around 8 p.m. on 108 Avenue between 103 and 104 Street in Grande Prairie.

Mounties say the teen was hit and thrown into the air by a blue sedan, however, they only suffered minor injuries and was treated and then released on scene.

They describe the suspect as a man with dark hair and a long beard driving a blue sedan, possibly a Honda Civic.

Police are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage recorded on Sept. 14 between 7:50 p.m. and 8:05 p.m. in the area of 108 Avenue in Grande Prairie to come forward and contact Grand Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5701.

Anyone with any information is also being asked to contact police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
