A Lethbridge woman is facing charges after allegedly hitting another woman in the face with a hatchet over the weekend.
Lethbridge Police were called to the area of Stafford Drive South and 5 Avenue South around 9 p.m. Saturday for reports of an assault.
Police say a 32-year-old woman was with a group in the area when an argument broke out before things turned physical. It is alleged the woman was struck in the face with a hatch by another woman.
The victim suffered significant facial injuries and went to a nearby business for help before being rushed to the hospital.
Police have arrested a 37-year-old Tara Many Shots and charged her with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
She is schedule to appear in a Lethbridge courtroom on Monday.
