Emergency crews were called to an industrial area near 51 Avenue and 4 Street SE around 9:30 a.m. for reports of an explosion.
Firefighters arrived to find the camper destroyed and were able to contain the fire and stoped it from spreading to a nearby building.
A man who was sleeping in the camper was severely burned on his hands, feet and face. He was rushed to hospital in serious condition.
