Calgary police seek man who allegedly assaulted girl in Prairie Winds Park

Calgary police need help looking for a man who they say assaulted a young girl in the city’s northeast on Tuesday.

They say reports came in about a “physical altercation” between a man and a girl at around 8:15 a.m. in Prairie Winds Park.

Officers believe the man, who is between 40 and 50 years old, verbally confronted the victim after something happened between his son and the girl. They say when it escalated, he struck the victim. It’s unclear what the interaction was.

EMS says she suffered from minor injuries and was taken home by attending officers.

Investigators say they have exhausted all avenues in identifying the man and need the public’s help.

They say he has a medium build and short hair, and at the time of the incident, was wearing a blue T-shirt, black pants with white stripes on the sides, and black shoes with white soles.
