Calgarians will be able to golf this week as temperatures rise

Calgarians who already miss hitting the links will be able to tee off again — and they won’t have to jump on a plane to do it.

The City of Calgary says it is reopening to courses for three days with temperatures expected to reach double digits later this week.

Tee times will be available at Maple Ridge and Shaganappi Point golf courses on Thursday (Nov. 7), Friday (Nov. 8), and Saturday (Nov. 9).

Online booking for Thursday is open on Tuesday, and booking for Friday and Saturday will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The city says Maple Ridge will operate on an 18-hole crossover for $30 and Shaganappi will use two nine-hole options for $20.

The courses staying open will be weather dependent. Calgary is expected to see a daytime high of 14 C on Thursday, 15 C on Friday and 7 C on Saturday, according to Environment Canada.
