Backhoe gets stuck under bridge in downtown Calgary, closes road

A road in downtown Calgary is closed Monday morning after a backhoe got stuck under a bridge.

Calgary police tell CityNews the piece of equipment was being transported on the back of a truck at 1 Street and 9 Avenue SW when it hit the rail bridge.

First Street SW, underneath the bridge, is closed northbound while crews work to clear the scene.

No injuries have been reported.
