Mounties just north of Calgary have charged a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a child after luring them online.
Airdrie RCMP say they began their investigation on June 12 after getting reports a youth was sexually assaulted.
Investigators were able to determine the victim had been lured on social media before the assault.
RCMP have charged 29-year-old Callum Tanner Stewart, of Nanaimo B.C., with child luring, sexual assault and failure to comply with a release order.
Police say the suspect is currently before courts in B.C. for possessing and distributing child pornography.
He is scheduled to appear in a Calgary courtroom on Monday.
