Calgary police are looking for witnesses after a man was shot multiple times near the Calgary Drop-In Centre in the city’s downtown on Wednesday.
Officers responded to several reports of shots being fired in the area around 5:30 p.m.
When they arrived, police said officers found an adult man with gunshot wounds and provided first aid until EMS could get there.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now in stable condition, according to police.
Officers said it is believed two men were arguing with the victim when one of them shot him before fleeing the area. Police added one of the suspects may have been injured during the altercation.
Investigators believe the victim and suspects know each other.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident who was travelling on the 5th Avenue flyover or the Reconciliation Bridge between 5:20 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday is being asked to contact police.
