The Calgary police homicide team is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Forest Lawn on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to the 900 block of 40th Street S.E. at about 7:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting, police said in a release.
Police found a man with apparent gunshot wounds at the scene.
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
After an autopsy on Friday, police identified the dead man as Michael Vesterfelt, 62.
The Calgary Police Service said the death is the city’s 14th homicide of the year.
