Yet even with the surge in sales there, new listings increased only about four per cent year over year. Despite declining supply, the MLS Home Price Index for the city fell about three per cent in October from the same span in 2023. One reason may be plenty of inventory — which includes listings on the market previous to October — up about 25 per cent year over year in Canada’s largest market.
