Traffic in Calgary’s downtown core will be slow starting Thursday as crews work to install a water main valve.
Beginning at 9 a.m., traffic on 9 Avenue SE at 1 Street SE will be reduced to a single lane. An adjacent lane of 1 Street SE will also be closed, according to the city.
The work causing the closure is expected to last through the weekend.
The city says traffic delays are likely and encourages drivers to check route planning apps, tune into traffic reports, and plan alternate routes where possible.
